20th Anniversary of the US Embassy Bombings in East Africa

Feature Story: Twenty years ago, in 1998, suicide bombers drove their pick-up trucks loaded with explosives into the US Embassies in two East African cities – Nairobi, Kenya and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. In total, the two bombings killed 258 people, including 12 Americans. The embassy bombings introduced the American public to Usama Bin Ladin and al-Qa'ida.
